Programming: Hobby or Job?
I didn’t know any framework or library at that time. I start designing website with corel draw, coding html and css with table as a layout, create mysql query builder and script to handle routing on php. 2 weeks later, I found myself lost in writing code. I knew there was something wrong. “I need to learn again”. Youtube help me with web dev simplified chanel, free code camp, and etc.
I learn about new css feature while learn about reactJs. After 1 month ‘meditate’, I start writing code again in PHP and jsx, and confuse when I thought “how reactJs run on php server?”, I didn’t have experience with nodeJs, how to install it on shared hosting. So I write “reactPhp”. There’s no problem with react in php, but I found react in php isn’t best practice, because babel compiles jsx in client browser.
In my first career as a freelance after resigning, I join a project, the task is to create a page where users can open pdf files, give annotate, draw, and chatting with other user on it. The project manager tells me to use react and typescript. So I learn typescript and fell in love with it. After that project, I confuse to deciding between learning expressJs or Laravel, my friend suggest me to learn expressJs because he knew when I learn reactjs.
After 6 months become a freelancer, I love programming as a hobby and working as a programmer ruined it. Or did I just burn out? Did you also feel lose yourself when deep into programming?
